Our service to those with hearing loss and ear disease starts with providing both medical and surgical care for these conditions that are common and have the potential to be lethal to the poor, even though they are relatively rare and routinely treatable for the privileged. Whether they are suffering from an acute hearing loss or a chronic condition related to a cholesteatoma, people come to us because they are sick and because they know, often for the first time, that they will not be turned away because they cannot pay. The medical care we provide can range from the simple act of providing an antibiotic to performing life saving surgery that will prevent the possibility of a brain abscess, meningitis, or even death.
Working with our partners in the community, we provide treatment for ear conditions and for more complex disorders associated with it. We also work to help improve the lives of our patients so that they may receive education and improve upon their economic opportunities.
